On Sunday, 20th October 2024, we embarked on an unforgettable journey in support of the global fight to eradicate polio, as we gathered for the National Polio Trail ahead of World Polio Day on 24th October. The day was filled with energy, unity, and dedication from all who participated!
A special thanks to District Interact Chair Hanitriniaina Anita Rambelo, who made her way from Madagascar to join us. From the moment the day began with a spectacular drone photo shoot to the trail itself, Anitaβs presence brought a wave of enthusiasm. She connected deeply with our Interactors, offering wisdom, laughter, and even teaching us the famous Madagascar-style clap β a memory weβll all cherish!
Huge shoutout to District Officer for Polio, Neeshta Venkamah, and the entire organizing committee for their tireless efforts in making this event such a resounding success.
Special mention to the Presidents of all Interact Clubs, who coordinated so smoothly with me to ensure every Interactorβs contribution was seen and appreciated. Your leadership and dedication truly shone through!
A round of applause to the dedicated members of these Interact Clubs who showed up in large numbers, despite being in the midst of exam season:

β’ Le Bocage International School
β’ Montebello
β’ Queen Elizabeth College
β’ Royal College Curepipe
β’ Royal College Port Louis
As District Interact Officer, I extend my heartfelt thanks to the advisors of the Interact Clubs and their Sponsor Rotary Clubs for their unwavering support and encouragement.
Our Polio Trail started with a scenic nature walk from La Cambuse Beach to Pont Naturel, where every step we took felt like a powerful stride toward a brighter, polio-free future. The unity of the Rotary family β Interact, Rotaract, Rotary families & friends β was felt deeply as we shared moments of connection and purpose.
After the walk, we enjoyed a delightful lunch, filled with laughter, joy, and cultural exchanges. The day truly became one of shared learning, growth, and camaraderie within the Interact & Rotaract Clubs in the presence of District Chair Anita.
Thank you to all who joined hands in this incredible effort to end polio once and for all. As we celebrate World Polio Day this week, letβs remember that Together, We End Polio!
