Joint Project in Ashraya School -Nelamangala (School for Special Education Need)
RC Montebello District 9220 & RC Bangalore Lakeside District 3191
Collaborating with the Sister Club in Bangalore to complete a joint project was a great achievement for RC Montebello on Monday 29th of Jan 2024. President Leena had the opportunity to visit the Ashraya School which is a Special Need Schools catered for children with different types of disabilities.
It was really heart touching to connect with those children; their heart full of love & their eyes seeking attention and care. President Leena spent time with the children and witnessed their day activity. They start their day with the morning prayer and national anthem, followed by some yoga and breathing exercises. Each child in the school has a different story. Hats off to the administration and the teachers for their dedication, love and care to these children. Few parents of the disabled children are also present to give a helping hand in the school and learn to take care of their child at the same time.
The children are taught the basics starting from greetings to eating habits to be independent. RC Montebello supported the school by donating school materials which will help the children in a different approach, a lamination machine so as to make the charts for reading and few chairs.
Before leaving Pdt Leena distributed biscuits and juice to the children who were overjoyed. The Rotary Club in Nepal also joined the project to learn more about the collaboration between RC Montebello & RC Bangalore Lakeside.
A very special thanks to IPP Prasanna Kumari, the Director of Service Project Sharmistha Tiwari, Pdt Veeresh Naidu and the entire team who made this project a great success. A great connection between the 2 districts and lovely fellowship among the Rotarians.
