Exploring the Power of Container Gardening with Mr. Qaysar Islam 
On Wednesday 14th August, members of RC Montebello had the pleasure of welcoming Guest Speaker Mr. Qaysar Islam, who enlightened us on the topic, “The Potential of Container Gardening for Vulnerable Families.” 
Mr. Islam passionately spoke about the importance and numerous benefits of gardening, particularly for vulnerable families. He highlighted how container and rooftop gardening are empowering families by allowing them to grow their own food, make their own compost, and avoid harmful chemicals. 
The benefits of this practice go beyond just food production; it promotes better health, saves money, and enhances overall well-being. Gardening also provides families with quality time together and offers children a healthy activity away from screen time.

During the Q&A session, Mr. Islam shared valuable insights on techniques for better yield and the use of natural solutions, such as using marigold plants for natural pest control.
